The 2015 World Championships will be held at Theewater Sports Club in South Africa from 5 - 15 January 2015. Planning is already underway for a number of WA Mirrors to make the trip.
The sailing will be held on Theewaterskloof Dam about 90 minutes drive from Cape Town.

Seventeen Mirrors contested the first heat of the 2013-14 State Championships at Maylands Yacht Club on Sunday 17th October. The warm weather was a welcome change but the very light conditions in the morning made for an interesting first race. Half the fleet got away in a 'gust' of 1 or 2 knots while the rest were left wallowing in dead calm. The fickle patchy wind meant that the second half of the fleet were timed out finishing more that 15 minutes after the first boat.

A creative approach has seen the next State Championships split over two weekends at 2 different clubs. Will ensure great exposure for Mirrors at two of the emerging clubs who have caught the Mirror bug. We hope it will also make it easier for many to commit to the States. Pencil the following dates in your diary now.
Day 1 - Sunday 27 October 2013 - Maylands YC
Day 2 - Sunday 30 March 2014 - Safety Bay YC

The 2013 Mirror Class State Championships will be at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd March.
Entry is only $65 per boat which includes the presentation BBQ dinner for both skipper and crew. Plus there are heaps of trophies on offer including the Rookie Trophy for the best first time entrants in a States.

Geoff Wilson has been working with Hill Sails in Perth on a radical design of the mainsail.
The modern design based on 49ers NS 14’s etc will help keep the class thoroughly modern as well as keeping it attractive to younger sailors. The prominent roach will assist in square run speed. In a recent test in only 4 knots of breeze the boat reached 2.5 knots.

The 47th Mirror Class Australian Championships get underway at the start of November. A number of WA crews are travelling to Tasmania and welcome anyone who would like to join them.
