Mirror Sailing in WA

About Me

I started sailing in the mid 1970's when my Dad built our first Mirror (Yellowhammer). Our first sail (all four of us in the boat) was in Matilda Bay I think. We had a couple of sails in lake Gnangarra but soon joined Nedlands Yacht Club. I started skippering after the 1980 Nationals in Hobart (by then in a new boat, Marlow Man). The third boat we built (Impact) was one of Blockey's kit at their worst. Still, it was good enough to win a States at Safety Bay in the mid 80's. We built Steppenwolf in 1986 I think. It was one of a batch of English kits and was much better that the local product. I've been sailing it on and off ever since and it still goes pretty well.

I've recently returned to sailing with my six year old boy, Timothy. He's great. Light, brave quick but not very strong.
